1 in 3 Pakistanis (30%) say they would not take a loan even if interest rates were abolished.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 1 in 3 Pakistanis (30%) say they would not take a loan even if interest rates were abolished.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Suppose if interest rates on loans are abolished, would you like to take a loan for your various personal needs?” In response to this question, 9% respondents said yes they would like to take a loan if interest rates were abolished, 30% said no, 29% said taking loans is hard and 32% said it is too soon to say anything.
