1 in 3 Pakistanis say the supply/ pressure of gas decreased in their area compared to the previous year; 8% more urban than rural residents say that the supply/ pressure of gas increased in their area compared to the previous year.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 1 in 3 Pakistanis say the supply/ pressure of gas decreased in their area compared to the previous year; 8% more urban than rural residents say that the supply/ pressure of gas increased in their area compared to the previous year.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Please think about gas load shedding/ supply during winters the previous year and please tell compared to the previous year, has the supply/ pressure of gas in your area increased, decreased or there is no difference this year?” In response to this question, 41% said the supply/ pressure of gas increased in their area this year compared to the previous year, 32% said decreased, 26% said there was no difference and 1% did not respond.

Rural Urban Breakdown:

In urban areas, 46% said the supply/ pressure of gas increased in their area this year compared to the previous year, 28% said decreased and 26% said there was no difference. On the contrary in rural areas, 38% said the supply/ pressure of gas increased in their area this year compared to the previous year, 34% said decreased, 25% said there was no difference and 3% did not respond.

Comparing the two regions, 8% more urban than rural residents said that the supply/ pressure of gas increased in their area compared to the previous year.
