A recent Gilani poll conducted by Gallup Pakistan shows that less than a quarter of all Pakistanis (20%) use gas heaters to keep their houses warm in winters followed by coal (5%) and electric heaters (4%). 69% use nothing to keep the houses warm. It should be noted that in many parts of Pakistan temperatures do not fall to a degree requiring heating.
The recent Gilani poll was conducted in Pakistan by Gallup Pakistan, affiliated with Gallup International Association, among a sample of 2599 men and women in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during November 2010. Error margin is estimated to be approx. 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
