According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 41% Pakistanis think that inflation is the biggest problem of Pakistan at the moment.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, In your opinion, what is the biggest problem of Pakistan at the moment? 41% respondents said inflation is the biggest problem of Pakistan at the moment, 31% think terrorism is the biggest problem, 19% think it is unemployment and 5% think foreign dangers are the biggest problem for Pakistan. 1% respondents believe Kashmir to be the biggest problem, while 1% named other problems and 2% did not respond.
Inflation has always remained popular as the biggest problem facing Pakistan in earlier surveys carried out by Gallup Pakistan as well, getting the highest number of votes for this question from January 2010 to July 2014. In recent years, inflation has been voted as the biggest problem by 46%, 47%, 43% and 48% Pakistanis respectively in Oct 2012, Jan 2013, Jan 2014 and May 2014. Terrorism has remained an important problem in people’s perception as well, with 24%, 24%, 22%, and 21% Pakistanis rating it as the biggest problem during the same period. Employment has also remained steady with 20%, 18%, 26% and 21% of the votes during this period.
