According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 46% Pakistanis are hopeful that talks with Taliban can still be successful in the aftermath of Hakimullah Mehsud’s death.

A nationally representative sample of men and women, from across the four provinces was asked. In your opinion, what are the chances that given the current situation, the current government will be successful in conducting talks with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan? Responding to this, 17% believed it is a very likely chance that the talks will be successful, followed by 29% who said it is somewhat likely, 26% deemed it somewhat unlikely and 26% considered it is very unlikely. 2% did not respond.
