According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 56% Pakistanis say that monsoon has been lighter this year compared to last year.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “According to you, has the monsoon rainfall been heavier, lighter or the same as last year?” In response, 18% said that monsoon this year has been heavier this year, 56% said that it has been lighter, and 26% said that it was the same.

According to the Metrological Departments last monsoon outlook report, less than normal rainfall is likely in August and September 2017. However, due to erratic behavior of summer monsoon, extreme precipitation events may occur at isolated places in the country, which can possibly cause floods.
