58% Pakistanis believe women should have right to divorce in Pakistan.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 58% Pakistanis believe women should have right to divorce in Pakistan.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked, “Some people say women should have right to divorce, while some say that women should not have right to divorce. What is your opinion on this matter?” In response to this question, 58% said women should have right to divorce, 41% said women should not have right to divorce. 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.

GENDER BREAKDOWN

56% of the male respondents said that women should have right to divorce, 43% said they should not have right to divorce, 1% did not know or did not wish to respond. On the other hand, 59% of the female respondents said that women should have right to divorce, 40% said they should not have right to divorce, 1% did not know or did not wish to respond. Comparing the two genders, we see that 3% more females than males believe that women should have right to divorce.
