According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 60% Pakistanis opine that news media does well in reporting news accurately. The least favorable rating is noted for reporting the different positions on political issues fairly.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “For each of the following, please tell me how news organizations in Pakistan are doing on the issue. Would you say news organizations are doing this very well, somewhat well, not too well, or not well at all?” Regarding reporting news accurately, 15% said very well, 45% said somewhat well, 29% said not too well and 9% said not well at all. 2% did not respond. Regarding reporting news about government leaders and officials, 15% said very well, 37% said somewhat well, 27% said not too well and 14% said not well at all. 7% did not respond. Regarding reporting different positions on political issues fairly, 16% said very well, 32% said somewhat well, 26% said not too well and 21% said not well at all. 5% did not respond. Regarding reporting on the most important news events, 16% said very well, 35% said somewhat well, 25% said not too well and 20% said not well at all. 4% did not respond.
