According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 61% Pakistanis believe unemployment is the biggest problem today; 29% say the same about the economy.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, across the four provinces was asked, In your opinion, what is the biggest problem today? Responding to this, 29% said the economy, 61% said unemployment, 18% said government inefficiency, 19% said problems relating to education and 16% said target killing and use of weapons. 13% of the respondents mentioned health problems. Others include loss of federal budget and government loans (11%), lack of social values (6%), immigrants and illegal people (7%), lack of investment in economy (8%) and lack of welfare (7%). Furthermore, 6% mentioned lack of respect for others was a major problem today and 9% said lack of foreign aid. 10% of the respondents considered high taxation a problem.
