8 in 10 Pakistanis believe corruption is impeding Pakistan’s growth and development.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 8 in 10 Pakistanis believe corruption is impeding Pakistan’s growth and development.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell to what extent do you personally agree or disagree with each of the following statements about corruption. [Corruption is holding Pakistan back]?” In response to this question, 51% said they strongly agree that corruption is holding Pakistan back, 28% said they somewhat agree, 14% said they somewhat disagree, 5% said they strongly disagree and 2% did not know.

Millennials Vs Others: No significant difference in opinion

In response to this question, 46% millennial respondents (aged 18-30) said they strongly agree that corruption is holding Pakistan back, 31% said they somewhat agree, 14% said they somewhat disagree, 6% said they strongly disagree and 3% did not know. On the other hand, 53% other respondents (aged 30+) said they strongly agree that corruption is holding Pakistan back, 27% said they somewhat agree, 14% said they somewhat disagree, 5% said they strongly disagree and 1% did not know.
