A significant 4 in 5 (82%) Pakistanis believe that the hands of a thief should be cut off as per Islamic punishment

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, a significant 82% Pakistanis believe that the hands of a thief should be cut off as per Islamic punishment.

A representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your opinion, should the hands of a thief be cut off as per Islamic punishment?” In response, 82% said that the hands of a thief should be cut off, 16% said the hands of a thief should not be cut off as per Islamic punishment and 2% did not know/did not wish to respond.
