A substantial majority of Pakistanis (82%) said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pakistan was a good step that will improve relations between India and Pakistan

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 82% Pakistanis believe that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pakistan was a good step that will improve relations between both countries.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces who had heard or read about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sudden visit was asked, “Some people are of the view that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pakistan is good news that will improve relations between both countries while others are of the view that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi should not have visited Pakistan. What is your opinion regarding this matter, did the Indian Prime Minister take a good or a bad step by visiting Pakistan?” In response to this question 82% said that it was a good step and 18% said that it was a bad step.
