An overwhelming majority (79%) of Pakistanis believes that religious fanaticism is a serious problem for Pakistan.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 79% Pakistanis believe that religious fanaticism is a serious problem for Pakistan; 21% Pakistanis believe that it is not serious.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell me how big of a problem religious fanaticism for Pakistan is?” In response to this question, 40% Pakistanis said that it is a very serious problem, 39% said that it is a somewhat serious problem, 14% said that it is somewhat unserious, and 7% said that it is not serious at all.
