Dominant majority of Pakistanis (70%) believe that women are getting more rights these days as compared to previous years.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, dominant majority of Pakistanis (70%) believe that women are getting more rights these days as compared to previous years.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked, “Some people think that women are getting more rights these days. For example, women make important decisions in the household like in what to buy, or how to educate or raise their children. Some people agree to this, while others disagree. What is your opinion?” In response to this question, 38% said they agree very much, 32% said agree to an extent, 24% said disagree to an extent, 5% said disagree very much. 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.

Gender breakdown

68% males and 73% females agree that women are getting more rights these days. Comparing the two genders, 5% more females are of the view that women are getting more rights these days
