PakTurk ICEF hosted an exclusive brunch for Pakistani academics on February 26, 2015 at the Foundation’s Head Office. The chief guest of the occasion was Prof. Dr. Serif Ali Tekalan, Rector, Fatih University and President, International Universities Association.
Prof. Dr. Tekalan was visiting Pakistan on occasion of the Vice Chancellors Forum, organized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and COMSATS IIT in collaboration with a number of governmental and academic bodies in Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Serif Ali Tekalan shared his experience of higher education management and international linkages of Fatih University with more than 100 countries. He stated that the dynamic changes around the world renders the phrase, “global village” increasingly obsolete as borders disappear and people meet on social media and various other online convention facilities.
He emphasized that there is a paradigm shift in the way universities are structured and operated and that the third-generation universities are on the rise with the addition of the competitiveness, transdisciplinary research and opening of university institutes that do not need direct financial or administrative interference of states.
Prof. Dr. Tekalan also invited the Pakistani academics to Fatih University’s forthcoming conference on Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Higher Education conference to be held in June 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey.
Pakistani and Turkish academics exchanged views about the potentials of higher education and cultural exchange between Pakistan and Turkey, and highlighted that Pakistani and Turkish higher educational institutions may implement joint research programs, student and faculty exchange and joint organization of academic conventions to strengthen the existing ties.
