The first phase of Gallup Pakistan’s prestigious Summer Internship Program 2016 has recently come to an end. This first batch comprised of 5 students from the Lahore University of Management Sciences for a period of four weeks. These interns worked on projects in the fields of education, social media, global polling and consumer behaviour. They undertook tasks in research design, data analysis, report writing, transcriptions, translations and video editing. Through these assignments, they were able to gain exposure to various quantitative and qualitative research techniques like questionnaires, FGDs and IDIs. They also assisted the Media Department with content analysis for electronic/print media and worked with the IT Department on upgrading the website. During the internship , the interns were rigorously exposed to Gallup Pakistan’s vast repository of Survey Research Data, collected over 36 years of the institution’s presence.
