Learning to recite the Quran: A significant majority (79%) of Pakistanis with children in their households learning the Quran report that they are learning it free of cost.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, a significant majority (79%) of Pakistanis with children in their households learning the Quran report that they are learning it free of cost.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces with children in their households learning to read the Quran was asked, “Please tell us how much you pay in fees to teach your child to read the Holy Quran?” In response to this question, 79% said that their children learn it free of cost, 11% said up to PKR 200, 4% said between PKR 200 and 500, another 4% said between PKR 500 and 1000, while only 2% reported paying more than PKR 1,000.
