According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, majority Pakistanis (70%) say they would prefer to take help from friends and family to cope with a possible financial crisis.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Suppose if you run into some economic problems in your future life, who will you get help from?” In response, 8% said they would get help in the form of a loan from a bank, 19% said they would take help from some government department, 37% said they would take a loan from some family member, 33% said they would get help from friends and 3% said an insurance company.
