Majority Pakistanis agree that government should ensure sermons in mosques do not promote violence and hate.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 89% Pakistanis agree that government should ensure sermons in mosques do not promote violence and hate; 11% Pakistanis disagree.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, Please tell us, to what extent do you agree or disagree with the following sentence: Government should ensure that the sermons/speeches in mosques do not promote violence and hate in the name of Islam? In response to this question, 53% respondents said they agree with this statement a lot , 36% respondents said they strongly agree with this statement, while 7% disagree with the statement and 4% said they disagree a lot with the statement.
