Majority Pakistanis believe China has played a good role to reduce tension between India and Pakistan, followed by Arab countries and Iran.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, majority Pakistanis believe China has played a good role to reduce tension between India and Pakistan, followed by Arab countries and Iran.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “To reduce tension between India and Pakistan, what is your opinion on the role of the following countries?” In response to this question, for Iran, 15% said Iran has played a very good role, 26% said good, 22% said average, 14% said bad, 15% said very bad and 8% did not know or did not wish to respond. For China, 48% said China has played a very good role, 25% said good, 13% said average, 5% said bad, 5% said very bad and 4% did not know or did not wish to respond. For America, 5% said America has played a very good role, 15% said good, 24% said average, 19% said bad, 33% said very bad and 5% did not know or did not wish to respond. For Afghanistan, 2% said Afghanistan has played a very good role, 15% said good, 22% said average, 23% said bad, 29% said very bad and 9% did not know or did not wish to respond. For Arab countries, 27% said Arab countries has played a very good role, 30% said good, 19% said average, 8% said bad, 9% said very bad and 7% did not know or did not wish to respond.
