According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, More than 2/3rd Pakistanis believe that the protests by Tehreek-e-Labaik were based on religious grounds. 29% say political reasons.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “The religious-political party ‘Tehreek-e-Labaik’ and its followers have sieged the Faizabad Interchange in Islamabad. Some people feel that their protest is for religious reasons, while others feel it is for political reasons. What do you think?” In response to this question, 70% said religious reasons, 29% said political reasons and 1% did not respond.
