More than half Pakistanis (54%) believe that men earn more for a job as compared to women

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 54% believe that men earn more for a job as compared to women.

A representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In Pakistan, do you feel that men and women earn the same for a same job?” In response, 54% said men earn more, 12% felt that women earn more while 33% respondents felt that both men and women earn equally for the same job.

Gender Breakdown: Male respondents are significantly more likely to say men earn more, whereas females are more likely to say women and men earn the same

Out of the total male respondents, a significant 61% felt that men earn more while out of the females that responded, highest 45% believe that men and women earn equally for the same job. Only 11% men felt that women earn more, and 13% women felt that they earn more for the same job. 42% females say that men earn more for the same job and 26% men believed that both earn equally for the same job.
