According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 55% of the respondents believe that Pakistan will have a bright future.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “Considering current circumstances, do you think Pakistan’s future will be bright or dark?” In response, 55% said that Pakistan’s future would be bright, 27% said that they can’t say and 17% believed that it would be dark. 1% did not respond.
This question was also asked previously over a time span of 6 years. The general trend has been such that optimism about Pakistan’s bright future has steadily increased over the years. Respondents who believed that Pakistan will have a bright future increased from 20% in October 2009 to 27% in August 2011 and to 42% in July 2014. In July 2015 the figure rose to a maximum of 55%. Similarly, 49% of the respondents said that Pakistan will have a dark future in October 2009 and this dropped to 40% in August 2011 and then to 17% each in July 2014 and July 2015.
