According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, nearly 2/3rd (67%) Pakistanis cite “Army” as an institution that has made Pakistan proud followed by Ulema (21%) and Sportsmen (19%), while Politicians cited by only 7%.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Please tell, which of the following institutions has made Pakistan proud in the last 69 years? (Multiple responses allowed)” In response to this question, 7% said politicians, 67% said the army, 21% said Ulema, 19% said sportsmen, 11% said media, 6% said the judiciary, 16% said academics (like teachers, professors), and 2% said government servants. 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.
