Only 13% of the respondents in a national survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan said they ate their meals on a dining table. One third (34%) said they either ate on a covering spread (dastar khawan) on the floor, Another 39% said that they ate on a cot (charpai/takht). The remaining 14% said they ate wherever they find a place to eat.
The survey was carried out among a national sample of men and women from all the four provinces of the country comprising a cross section of people belonging to various age, income and education groups.
