According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, only 18% Pakistanis opine that society as a whole benefits from government revenue generated from taxes, near majority believes government taxes help a proportion of society only.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “In your opinion, who is the beneficiary when the government levies a new tax and generates revenue form it?” In response to this question, 18% said that the society as a whole is the beneficiary of new taxes and the revenue that is generated from them, 47% said few people, while 33% said none and only 1% said that the government was the sole beneficiary. 1% did not know or did not wish to respond.
