Over 4 in 10 Pakistanis believe that no one other than the couple should be involved in family planning decision.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, over 4 in 10 Pakistanis believe that no one other than the couple should be involved in family planning decision.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “In your opinion, should any person be involved in family planning with a couple or not?” In response to this question, 19% said that parents/in-laws should be involved, 18% said a doctor should be involved, 11% also said that a friend or neighbor could be involved, while almost half (43%) of the respondents said that no one should be involved. 9% did not know or did not wish to respond.
