According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 78% Pakistanis believe that free and fair elections are possible after the introduction of biometric and electronic voting machines; 21% believe it is not possible.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, Nowadays, some people say that biometric and electronic voting machines should be introduced for electoral reform. Supposing that electronic and biometric technology is introduced in Pakistan for elections, what is the possibility that free and fair elections will be held in Pakistan? In response to this question, 37% respondents said it is very possible, 41% said it is somewhat possible, 8% said it is not very possible and 13% said it is not possible at all. 1% respondents did not respond.
