Pakistanis hold varying amounts of knowledge about the violence that accompanied the creation of Pakistan.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 46% Pakistanis have a lot of information about the violence that accompanied the migrations between India and Pakistan in 1947.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, At the time of creation of Pakistan, the province of Punjab was divided between India and Pakistan, and nearly 1 crore people migrated from one country to the other. During this time, there was a large amount of violence and killings because of clashes between Sikhs, Hindus and Muslims. Have you heard/read about any of this? In response to this question, 46% respondents said they have a lot of information about the violence that resulted from the division of India in 1947, while 44% said they have little information about it and 10% have not heard or read about these clashes at all.
