According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, public opinion divided evenly over relative incidence of harassment against women in Pakistan. 29% say it has increased, while 30% say it has decreased in the past year.

A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked “Do you feel that crimes against women (i-e harassment) during the past year have increased, decreased or remained the same?” In response, 29% said crimes against women have increased, 30% said they have decreased, 40% said they remain the same and 1% did not respond.
