Public opinion divided over the effectiveness of teaching female teachers to use weapons for security of schools and students.

According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 35% Pakistanis feel that teaching female teachers to use weapons will not make any difference to security of schools and students.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, Recently, after the Peshawar tragedy, female teachers in Peshawar schools are being taught to use weapons. Do you feel that giving teachers weapons will improve the security situation for schools and students, or worsen it, or will it make no difference? In response to this question, 29% respondents said that teaching female teachers to use weapons will improve the security situation for schools and students, 33% respondents said that it will worsen the security situation, while 35% believe it will make no difference and 3% did not respond.
