According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan, 6% Pakistani households claim to have a CCTV camera installed for their security. KPK tops in this technological innovation with 18% households claiming to have CCTV.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces was asked, “Some people install surveillance cameras for the safety/monitoring of their homes or businesses (such as shops, factories, offices, hotels and restaurants). Please tell if you have installed CCTV cameras to protect/monitor your home or business?” In response to this question, 6% said yes and 94% said no.
5% respondents from rural Pakistan said yes, and 95% said no. Meanwhile, 8% respondents from urban Pakistan said yes and 92% said no.
In Punjab, 4% said yes they have CCTV cameras installed at their home or business and 96% said no. In Sindh, 5% said yes they have CCTV cameras installed at their home or business and 95% said no. In KPK, 18% said yes they have CCTV cameras installed at their home or business and 82% said no. In Balochistan, 100% respondents said they do not have any CCTV cameras installed at their home or business.
