Varying estimations regarding attendance at Friday prayers.


According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 26% of those Pakistani men who attended last Friday’s prayers at the mosque said that 51-100 people participated in the prayers. (This poll is Part 4 of a 5-part series on Friday sermons)

A nationally representative sample of adult men who offered last Friday prayers at the mosque, from across the four provinces was asked, Regarding last Friday’s prayers, how many people do you think participated in last Friday prayers? In response to this question, 17% respondents said up to 50 people participated in the Friday prayers, 26% said 51-100 people participated in the prayers, 19% said 101-200 people participated, 15% respondents said 201-300 people participated in the prayers, 5% thought 301-400 people had participated in the prayers, while 15% respondents believed that more than 400 people participated in last Friday’s prayers and 3% did not respond.
